Oakley

In 1975 James Jannard introduced Oakley and its premier product, a motocross hand grip made from a new material called Unobtainium® that is engineered to increase grip in damp conditions. This new material revolutionised the optical industry.

In 2000, Oakley introduced its first performance apparel line, a range of technical outerwear for winter athletes. A hinge-less frame worn over the head, Oakley OvertheTop® debuted at the Olympic Games and challenged conventional thinking of how sunglasses should be worn.

Oliver Peoples

Oliver Peoples was born in the heart of West Hollywood, California, on iconic Sunset boulevard. The unique culture of Los Angeles - elements of fashion, film, art, music, and the southern California lifestyle - remains at the core of the brand's DNA.

The first Oliver Peoples designs were inspired by an estate collection of vintage American-made eyewear purchased by the founders of the brand in the late 1980’s. The assortment included thousands of beautifully filigreed rimless and metal frames, including clip-on metal sunglasses produced by iconic American companies such as Bausch & Lomb and American Optical. All of the frames were unworn, in mint condition, and in their original packaging. Among the collection, which also included catalogues, tooling, and lenses, was a receipt signed with the name “Oliver Peoples.” It was reasoned that he was the owner or distributor, and the first original collection was named in his honour.

Paul Smith

Paul Smith's introduction into fashion was completely accidental. At the age of 16, with no career plans or qualifications, Paul Smith was propelled by his father into a menial job at the local clothing warehouse in his native Nottingham. However his real passion was sport and his ambition was to become a professional racing cyclist, until aged 17 years when cycling-mad Paul was in a terrible accident.

Six months in hospital followed and during this time Paul made some new friends. After leaving hospital he arranged to meet them again and by chance the meeting place was a local pub that was popular with the students from the local art college.

In business for over 40 years Paul Smith had established himself as the pre-eminent British designer. Paul Smith has an ability to anticipate, and even spark off trends not only fashion but in the wider context of popular culture. He manages to transmit a genuine sense of humour and mischief mixed with his love of tradition and the classics.

Ray-Ban

Created for United States military pilots over 75 years ago, Ray-Ban sunglasses went on sale to the public in 1937. The first style featured green lenses in a plastic frame with the now classic Aviator shape, but was remodeled with a metal frame the following year and rebranded as the Ray-Ban Aviator.
