The most important consideration when purchasing sunglasses, (after finding the right style), is to make sure that the lenses block out all harmful UV rays. Lenses can be made of toughened glass which makes them very scratch resistant but slightly heavier or plastic resin, CR39, which can be tinted in almost any colour, or polycarbonate which is extremely tough and is used by Oakley and other sport sunglass manufacturers.
